User Comments about the name Micah
Comment left May 14, 2008: "My name is Micah and I get compliments on the name all the time. The only bad thing is that I get called Mike every day and most people want to spell it Micha due to the name Michael. Regardless, I think it's a good name and a solid one. My parents named me after Micah in the Bible, and being a Christian myself has opened the door for some ministry opportunity when people ask the origin." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Dec 12, 2007: "The name actually means "who is like God (YHWH)." It is more of a rhetorical question than a statement, and would never be considered "one who is like," since the answer to the question would be "no one."" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Oct 13, 2007: "My son's name is Myca...it means "one who is like God (Jehovah)". I'm a transplant to Hawaii and found that are many, many "Micah"s here, but I still receive a lot of compliments regardless." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Mar 11, 2007: "I adore this name. My Best friend was named Micah, and I intend on naming my child Micah Paxton" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Dec 23, 2006: "I knew a Micah and he was a very upstanding, popular, cute, nice guy! Very original. Good alternative to Michael, but almost a bit feminine (hence all the girl Micahs). What does it mean?" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Dec 08, 2006: "I named my first-born son Micah. It is my favorite name for a boy. People spell it wrong all the time. They mostly spell it Micha." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Oct 03, 2006: "It's on my name list for boys. I love the sound and especially the unique spelling. It's sort of like Michael, but not so tired and common. The only thing I worry about is when I see people using it for girls... also, I am a religious person that finds meaning in many religions, NOT only Christian religions, so I'm not sure about using a biblical name..." Comment left Jul 09, 2006: "I find it intriguing that "Micah" happens to relate to the Indonesian pop-star. I dislike the suffix of the name but will continue my research in mosambique" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Apr 02, 2006: "This is my favorite name in the world. To be fair, however, it is also MY name." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Sep 02, 2005: "Most people like my name, but most people also mispronounce it, saying it "mee-cuh" or "mee-sha." Today someone actually pronunced my name as "mich" like it had a silent "a." I dunno? What almost everyone says though is "Micah? Like the rock?" This rubs me the wrong way, as I suspect it does all Micahs, but I am not sure. That would be a good experiment. And also, there are two Micahs in the Bible, both in the old testament: one is a prophet but the other is an idolator(sp?) for a pagan army. I like my name so much and I meet so few other Micahs that I feel somewhat territorial about my name. I doubt very seriously that we could ever be friends." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Aug 12, 2005: "My brother's name is Micah and people always misspelled it and tended to call him "Mike", which he hated. I love this name." (Report as inappropriate)
