He's only 6 so I haven't met too many other people since he was born with his name until recently. Obviously there's the actor Mekho Phifer. I am a piano instructor and this past summer one of my students/campers was named Mekhi (with the same spelling as my brother and he was the same age as my brother! What a shocker!!)" I came up with the name because I wanted to incorporate mine and his fatherıs names (though he wanted a ıjunior). The further along I got into my pregnancy, the more I realized he was destined to be Mehki. It bugs me when people mispronounce his name (Mickey, Ma-Kae, My-Ki). Everyone in my community knows him...not to mention that he is a very handsome young boy. It is most often mispronounce by doctor's or nurses. I pronounce it has (mey-ki). Simple. 1)Mekhi Phifer the actor
2)It means like God (the same as Mike)which is my name.
3)My wife is called Kelly, so Mekhi has part of both are names in it.

They spell it Makai (my mom even had his Christmas stocking spelled wrong)and my sister spells it Mekai. Sometimes people pronounce it Meh-key.
