Comment left Jul 14, 2009: "I just gave birth to a son and we named him Malakai. I wanted something biblical but I also wanted it to hint at his polynesian heritage. So we spelled it to look similar to molokai(the island)" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jun 29, 2009: "at first i was gonna name my son malakai (malachi - original hebrew name)... but then after thinking about it... the name sounded TOO strong, too stern... so i went with the irish malachy version, bc its more light-hearted (happy drunk, if you will). which is good, cuz that strong a name on that strong-willed boy would be too razor sharp an edge for the world to handle!" Comment left Jun 19, 2009: "Love the name.. am going to use it if i have a baby boy.. although with use Malachi, as here in New Zealand, kai is the Maori word for food, which everyone says instead of food!! So, might be a bit of fuel for the teasing fire!" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left May 25, 2009: "Malachi is a bibical name and he was the last minor prophet of the Old Testament. Read Malachi 1:1. Malachi, is a very strong, wonderful name. I've only known of one Malachi, he was a teenager who held a summer job where I worked. He held up to his name; he was a very dedicated, super kid!" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Apr 27, 2009: "why are so many Irish people saying that is its origin? Mine came from my Hebrew roots, and the one other I've met also got it from there. Most actually say my full name, only my best friend (and his family) call me Mal. Though I do have friends that like to play around with the pronunciation, just try it. If your like me you'd be surprised how many you've heard from people reading it out loud ^^" (Report as inappropriate)
