A nick name would be -Kenzie or something like that. the name MCKenzie if not a last name is hardly ever used by boys in America. I rate the name Mackenzie as very strong and proud. I named my on twin Mackenzie, the other Macauley. Both fit with their last name O'Grady. Mac is the gaelic word for son so yes it is supposed to be a boys name. Just unknowing American mother follow trends without doing their homework. Whats truly sad are the baby books that say it means "child of a wise ruler". So very politically INCORRECT." (Report as inappropriate)

I love being Scottish, and I like the nicknames that generate from it. Mac, Kenzie, Mackenz, Kenz, Kensington, Mackie... many possibilities. It's long, though, so if you have a long last name you might want to think twice. That's why my middle name is Joy. Short, sweet, and to the point.
