  • Comment left Jul 14, 2008: "my brest friends name is liam we pronounce it lee-em but this teacher calls him lie-am." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Feb 20, 2008: "I named my son Liam and I think it is a very handsome name that will grow with him. He was born on St Patricks day and we don't need a nickname to shorten the name since it is already a shortened version of Wil[liam]." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Feb 18, 2008: "Was my Dads name. I miss him, so im defo gonna name my baby liam if its a boy." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Dec 29, 2007: "Don't like it....way too old fashioned and reminds me of a lemon!" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Nov 21, 2007: "We, too, have a Liam. My dad's William and I have a nephew, Will, so Liam is in keeping. His full name is Liam Tavish (which is Irish for twin), and his twin's name is Aidan Thomas (Thomas also means twin and was the paternal grandfather's name, too). We have had a few problems with pronunciation- Leem the most common, but still love the name, even though increasing in popularity." (Report as inappropriate)

  • Comment left Nov 17, 2007: "Short for William. Very nice. Very Irish-sounding." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Aug 20, 2007: "My son's name is Liam Reade. When people see the same they pronouce it correctly, but when introducing him occasionally people think it is Leon or Ian. My Liam is fun and full of life!" (Report as inappropriate)

  • Comment left May 20, 2007: "Our second son is named Liam Thomas. We love the name - never had any problems with mispronunciation..." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Mar 08, 2007: "hello, I live in germany. my son is called liam. the correct pronouncation in my opinion is (lee-am), because it is a short form of william. unfortunately it is often pronounced in a wrong way - li-am. I love this name, it is just the right for my little boy." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Feb 19, 2007: "i love this name because it is my boys name. It seems to be very popular now a days." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Feb 12, 2007: "I named my son Liam but everyone wants to call him Leon, weird." (Report as inappropriate)

  • Comment left Feb 08, 2007: "My sons name is Liam have loved it since the first time I heard it. My family too is all "William" but my husband is Irish so we went with the Irish version of Liam. Love it" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Nov 15, 2006: "My wife and I named our son Liam. It's a really nice sounding name when people pronounce it properly. Some people say "Lie-Um" instead of "Lee-Um". It drives me nuts but it doesn't happen too often. The name is the Irish short form for William. Liam is simple, masculine and strong. We're glad to be a part of the Liam Club :-)" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Nov 01, 2006: "my name is liam and i think its a wonderful name and iam called lee for short:-)" (Report as inappropriate)

  • Comment left Oct 11, 2006: "My son's name is Liam, and everytime we go over to Ireland he just loves it as his name is everywhere. "Mummy look there is my name!" It's actually the Irish diffinitive of William (which is English). BTW the native language of Southern Ireland is known as the Gaeltacht, Irish (Gaelic.) In the North mainly English is spoken as it's part of the UK...my mother was Irish and I was born in the UK." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Aug 01, 2006: "I love this name! I wish to name my future son Liam." (Report as inappropriate)
