User Comments about the name Keith
Comment left Oct 09, 2008: "Keith is my middle name and for a long time I liked it more than my first name. But that has changed over the years and now that I'm older (at 34) I like both my first and middle names just the same. Keith is cool!" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Aug 11, 2008: "The 4th comment incorrectly states Keith is Welsh. It is derived from the clan Keith which is Scottish." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Aug 05, 2008: "I love this name because it's my husband's, but it's definitely a difficult one to find a nickname for, which can be a positive or negative depending on your preferences!" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jul 06, 2008: "KEITH
Origin: Scottish
A good name but it's not Welsh. There's a place in Scotland called Keith & also a place called Keith in Australia." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left May 01, 2008: "I named my son Keith. He is now 7.5 months old but ever since he was born, people call him Baby Keith. I think it's because Keith is a one-syllable name." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Jan 12, 2007: "My husband's name is Keith. It's a little ole fashioned but that suits him. Don't hear of any new babies these days called Keith." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Dec 18, 2006: "I think it's a great name. (It's my name too!) The only downfall is often on the phone, people will call you "Pete" or "Steve"." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jul 13, 2006: "I married Keith. To me Keith means handsome, strong, calm, and kind. I love his name." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jun 29, 2006: "Keith has been good to me as a name, in that it's not too common, yet not too obscure. Often, upon first meeting people, they will call me "Kevin" instead of Keith, perhaps because Kevin is more common and the "Ke" sticks with them. I have heard from other Keiths that this is the case. Besides frequent "ie-ei" mispellings, Keith is a pretty solid name." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jun 17, 2006: "I love my name, My father gave it to me and I have only met like 3 other people with it, it makes me feel unique" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jun 09, 2006: "Keith is a rockin' name! people sometimes spell it Kieth, because of that silly rule, but k is c in scottish, so it works.... Not too many people have it, and it's simple and sexy." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left May 30, 2006: "People always spell it wrong. What they learn in grammar school- i before e except after c is most likely the culprit." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Apr 16, 2006: "People have not problems pronouncing the name "Keith", it is the spelling of the name that gets everyone. I usually get "Kieth"" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Apr 12, 2006: "Keith is my son's name. My wife and I chose the name for its Celtic/Welsh origin, meaning, and rarity today in the U.S. Most people seem to like the name. A common misspelling is reversing the e and the i." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Dec 22, 2005: "Being a Keith born in the 80's has been a good experience. There aren't too many of us, so it's been rare that I was in a situation where there were multiple Keiths. Also, it's a very uniquely spelled name (Welsh I believe)--many people don't realize that the e comes before the i (unusual), and one-syllable K names are uncommon. Very few names end in th, as well. Overall it has been an enjoyable name to have, though nickname options are somewhat limited or nonexistant. All of the nicknames I've had in my life have been unrelated to my first name."
