I've been called just about any name that can begin with "K".) Overall, I love the name. I've met only one other person with it, though it was spelled Calen. Comment left Aug 24, 2008: "I'm a 38 year old male. I was named Kalen (pronounced Kah-len) although most people call pronounce it Kal-len or Kellen or Kal. My mother got the name from a film "The Defiant Ones" starring Sidney Potier and Tony Curtis. In that film, Potier's character was named Cullen. Since my My mom is Yugoslavian, she heard it and spelled it differently. Hence, Kalen. I always correct people when they call me Kay-lin, or any such resemblance. It seems to be an American pronunciation. Since I'm half Yugoslavian and half Nigerian, I guess having an uncommon name always suited me and I couldn't imagine named differently."
