User Comments about the name Jayce
Comment left Aug 16, 2008: "We named our son Jayse. I love the name. The only problem is that everyone pronounces it Jaysie. Jaysie is a girls name. We always correct it. Everyone always compliments on his name. And they liked the name." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Aug 02, 2008: "My son was born a week ago and we named Jayce Carter, Everyone loves the name but we do get alot of Chase pronounciations" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jul 31, 2008: "My name is Jayce, I was born in 1990 and I am a female. I have never met any one else with this name and only hear about boys with this name. People most commonly pronounce it "Jayceeee" when they see it spelt, but never gets confused with the name Chase when said. Customers never say my name at work when i serve them because they are usually too afraid of mis-pronouncing it. I love my name." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jul 22, 2008: "My son was born July 2007 and I named him Jayce Aiden. Sounds like a secret agent lol. But I just get soooo mad when people say Jayceeee....grrr or Chase or Jason, I mean is it that hard" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jul 09, 2008: "hi!! i'm anuva jayce.. ha ha! except i'm beta than all you others!!" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jun 22, 2008: "My Son was born Sept 07 and I went with the name Jayce after hearing it as a football players sons name on a show I watched all during my pregnancy. Still to this day at the doctors the one nurse calls him Joyce. I too have to repeat the name when someone asks me what his name is, sometimes its funny but other times aggrivating. I like how different and unique it is." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Apr 25, 2008: "My name is Jayce... I get JC and Chase a LOT, but its a good convo starter to explain the pronunciation even though it can get annoying. I was born in 87' and noticed that was the first year the name became popular, wonder why? It's a unique name that fits my personality more and more as I get older. I'm thinking about naming my first son Jruw to continue the trend unique J names in the fam." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Apr 24, 2008: "I am expecting a boy and he is going to be named Jayce Carter after my husband Jason. We wanted to name our baby after him so we turned his nick name "Jase" into an original yet cute version with the y. Jason is thrilled!" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Apr 20, 2008: "Our son, Jayce Elliott Castleman was born last week. We love the name, but usually have to say "Jayce with a J" so people don't say Chase. When picking a name, I looked at a lot of last names in the phone book and found Jayce. We preferred that spelling over "Jase". We had not heard of another boy named Jayce until very recently." Comment left Mar 15, 2008: "My name is Jayce. I was born Jan 14, 1960. Am I the oldest Jayce out there?" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Mar 07, 2008: "My son was born on August 15, 2007 and his name is Jayce David. I agree it really gets on my nerves when people call him Jaycee & if they don't do that they think I said Jason or Chase." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Feb 22, 2008: "My son is also named Jayce. We saw the name "Jace" in a High School hockey program and decided to add the "y" (in case we called him Jay). Yes, everybody converts his name to Jason, mistakes it as Chase, or misreads it as Jay-cee (2 syllables). I would not have guessed that since Joyce is very common and people don't say Joy-cee. Jayce is 14 and we have met or heard of less than 5 other Jayce's. I'm still happy I chose this unique name." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jan 29, 2008: "I am due any day now and will name our son Jayce Rylan...Yay for all the Jayce's!!!" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jan 27, 2008: "Thanks for all the thumbs up, and in particular the comment form Dec 19th, 2007. My name is first and last name are Jayce Cameron respectively. I was born March 6th, 1983.
My mother named me out of the blue but the earliest refrence I found is a cartoon called "Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors", that came out 2 years after I was born.
Whenever my name is written for someone to speak aloud they almost always pronounce it Jay-cee. Beinng a male I do find the incorrect pronounciation of my name a tad bit effeminate but I don't let it bother me as they didn't know how it was intended to sound or even if who they were calling was male or female. Whenever I speak to someone who trys to repeat it to show that they heard you/understood you, I find they repeat back Chase, most often, followed by my second repeat and their next failed attempt being, Jason. Luckily we have name tags at work now so I just point. lol. Without making this an entire essay I'll end by saying I do get a lot of praise for originality and do enjoy that!" Comment left Jan 14, 2008: "My son is 2 1/2 years old and his name is Jayce Ryan. I love the name....it's different and unique. It fits him well." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jan 13, 2008: "I named my daughter Jayce in 2006. I LOVE it!! I have also seen it spelled Jaicey, Jacey, I don't like it when people pronounce it J-C! Most people will either look at you like you're crazy and say what? or they compliment it! Either way I don't care because I love it!" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Dec 29, 2007: "We named our DAUGHTER Jayce in 1994 - we love the name for either a boy or a girl, and we intended to use it either way. The mis-pronunciation/mis-understanding we get most often is "Chase", but we get many compliments too. If pronouncing the name to someone for the first time, we just automatically provide the spelling so that there is no question." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Dec 17, 2007: "My son is 3 mos old and his name is Jayce. When people ask what his name is, they think i am saying Jason. I love this name and found it on the internet. I wanted to go with the spelling Jase, but figured that was typical. I love the Jayce spelling. I am so happy I chose this name for my son." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Dec 07, 2007: "I named my son Jayce that is now 16 months because my mothers name is Joyce so I just dropped the "o" and put and "a". All of my immediate families name starts with a J so I figured lets name this baby boy something original and unique that no one else has and thats what I did, I never heard of anyone else with the same spelling until now. People always say Jace or Jaycee at the doctor but it is pronounced Jay_ce like Joyce but no "o". I have not met anyone in person with the same name." (Report as inappropriate)
