Comment left Nov 20, 2007: "Our son, 10-years old, is Jamie. His full name is Edward James D. Edward, after my now-deceased father, and James after his father's long-ago deceased brother. We thought it fitting to name him after family. But when he was born premature at 2 lbs., and he was admitted to the NICU, the nurses all referred to him as EDWARD; well it just seemed to be too BIG of a name. He was small, defenseless, gentle. Jamie, came in to play within the first few days, and it just stuck...it stuck so well. He is SO Jamie, still. Gorgeous, sweet, sensitive, popular, a skate-boarding, long-haired, double-ear-pierced freak at 10!!! We were told by doctors that he would be blind and have cerebral palsy...but NOTHING. He's perfect, healthy, and our true blessing! Jamie isn't a name for the bully in class. The name "Jamie" for boy is a true depiction of the kind of boy he is, and the kind of man he will become. Not a mama's boy...don't get me wrong. Just a loving child who has no qualms about yelling, "I love you, Mom", from the football field.
