Comment left Feb 22, 2007: "My name is Felix. In my youth, I was teased with "Felix the Cat". After the hundredth time though, you just laugh it off and say "yeah" with a smile. Most native english speakers I have encountered had no problem spelling it (only 2-3 people acted like they had never heard of it before, I think some teenager at a Rubio's Baja grill, and one at a hardware store) or pronouncing it. Asians (who didn't grow up here in the US) seem to have more trouble saying it and pronouncing it. They usually pronounce it "fix", "flicks", "Fay-lecks" or "falicks" and spell it all sorts of ways including "Phix", "Phex", "filex", "philex". I have only briefly met one other Felix in my life, Felix Fan (of the Cello fame), who used to live down the street, however, I don't think they liked us for some reason. I like the name, it is uncommon and people seem to have an easier time recalling your name in most cases." (Report as inappropriate)
