Comment left Oct 30, 2009: "Before Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger (Dinosaur Squadron Beast Rangers) which spawned Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, there was an even earlier Super Sentai show, Kagaku Sentai Dynaman (Scientific Squadron Dynaman), the 1983 show later aired in the U.S. as a dubbed parody on the TV show Night Flight, and Dan, of course, is the surname of the character Hokuto Dan aka DynaRed (his name is Wooshi in the parody). But, yes, one of the Zyurangers is Dan/TriceraRanger, who I prefer to his American counterpart Billy Cranston the Blue Power Ranger in MMPR (even though Billy may be somewhat like another one of the Dynamen, Yousuke Shima aka DynaBlue - called 'Frankie' in the Night Flight parody dub of Dynaman)." Comment left Mar 18, 2009: "In the 1992 Japanese television program 'Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger' (Dinosaur Squadron Beast Rangers) which spawned 'Mighty Morphin Power Rangers' in the United States, the original wearer of the Blue Power Ranger costume prior to Billy Cranston's doing so in the American version was the Etof Tribe Knight Dan, aka TriceraRanger and the Warrior of Courage. I've watched some episodes of the Japanese version in recent times and I find Dan very funny. Okay, he may be a bit of an airhead at times, with his sometimes tending to act before thinking, but at the same time he's such a laugh, not to mention a ladies' man.
