  • Comment left Mar 05, 2009: "I was named after my 19th century Scottish Great-Grandfather, Dallas Campbell." (Report as inappropriate)

  • Comment left Nov 07, 2008: "I named my Daughter Dallas after her grandfather. Everyone calls her a boy! Her name is Dallas Rae...I love it..but I am having trouble finding a name to go with it for my baby on the way..." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Oct 22, 2008: "I'm named Dallas, and yes, I definitely get the Texas thing. Worse though, is that my brother's name is Austin, so we always get asked if we were born in Texas, by almost anyone who ever meets us. My mom just liked the names, and had no intention of torturing us with this gag. All the same, I love the name, and wouldn't want any other." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Aug 29, 2008: "hi courageously enough I can say that my name is Dallas, and in school no one would say my actual name.I was born in houston,Tx so in school they would call me H-town,Fort Worth, annd every other city or state name they felt like calling me;but never dallas." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Aug 09, 2008: "We named our son Dallas, I am Scottish and my husband is Spanish so we wanted a Scottish first name as we have a Spanish surname, his name is Dallas Dalmau Perez! We think its cool! Love it!. There is a small town in the north of Scotland called Dallas, a whiskey called Dallas Dhu and a waterfall. The only comments I get are people asking if that is where he was conceived!!! Which really annoys me! Dallas was born in 2004." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Jul 30, 2008: "Yes when someone says Dallas they know they talking about me i have never met anyone else named Dallas and i love the name the meaning the orgin and love the popularity... there is so many girls named ashley and stuff i like not haveing a popular name..." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left May 18, 2008: "I named my son Dallas Chace and I think it is a wonderful name and the second name matches very well!! I also have a son named Austin, so they go well together and are strong names!!" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Apr 21, 2008: "I've been named Dallas all my life. Funnily enough. I love it. Most people that hear it say how nice a name it is. And very rarely are the words "Dallas? Dallas who?" spoken. When I was young a school teacher told me the name meant 'creative and good with hands' which is very much what I am. I did get a bit of crap about it in primary (grade) school. People standing behind me in the class line whistling the theme to the TV show. But mostly it was from people named John or Fred. Jealous. I only got the name because my uncle wanted to call his first boy Dallas, then had three girls and was to scared to try again. When I cam along, he let me mum take the name. I feel very luck to have it. Just a shame my last name is Bland. And my middle name is also very very average. Thank god for my first name." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Apr 08, 2008: "I've never really thought of Dallas as a name, At the moment im pregnant and have chosen Austin for a boy, and my dad came up with dallas for a second boy, but i have come to love the name and decided if this one is a girl, Dallas will be her name. Also the whole "texas city" thing was not on my mind when i decided on austin, but my parents like the idea of austin and dallas for 2 brothers. But i would rather go with one or the other so girl dallas, boy austin!" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Mar 21, 2008: "My name isn't "Dallas", but "Dallis". It's funny how many people spell mine wrong, thinking it as an "a" instead of an "i". I like the name though, especially because I have never met anyone with the same name or spelling." (Report as inappropriate)

  • Comment left Aug 14, 2007: "My name is blaze, my son's name is Dallas, can you give me an explicit meaning of Dallas. Thanks your's sincerely blaze" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Feb 01, 2007: "I'm a girl named Dallas and I LOVE IT! I get comments all the time on how pretty and original it is. People always seem to remember it, spell it right, and pronounce it correctly, a huge plus! Of course I get teased every once in a while, I practically grew up as "Texas" and "Cowboy" and I hear an occasional good-natured "Dall-ass" from time to time, but it's not a big deal. Overall: unique, easy to say, spell, remember, and never confused with anyone else!" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Dec 02, 2006: "I am naming my son Dallas. Both my brother and my father had the name Dale and since they have both passed away, I want to honor them but make it unique at the same time so I think Dallas is perfect." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Sep 15, 2006: "Yes Naming Children can be a task, and having now had to name my own, i wanted something strong, not so trendy but nothing boring. end result, she won and called him Kaleb. Dallas being my own name, is a cool name, and i got the same amount of ribbing that seems popular theme with others on this page. Is that your real name or your nick-name? they would ask. Never mind. Its a cool name and i thank my parents for their originality now, and if you really look into it it stems back to an old gaelic name. Stuff others anyway., if you like it run with it. Else you end up with a name like my Kaleb" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Sep 14, 2006: "Not only is my name Dallas but it is Dallas Starr. I went to school with 1 other boy named Dallas and once I recahed High school there was a girl Named Dallas (she even had a crush on me...... creepy). I love my name though, it always gets good comments and everyone seems to remember it. Seeings how I had red heair I was called Dall-ass, Salad, carrot top, Archie... you name it. I would not want any other name" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Aug 27, 2006: "We named our second son Dallas. It's been a favorite name of mine for many many years! We always can find a child or adult here and there named Dallas, but he's never been in a class with any other children named Dallas. We would have named our child that whether it turned out to be a girl or boy. THe president of the White Mountain Apache nation for a time was named Dallas." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Jul 22, 2006: "i read the book "the outsiders" and i fell in lvoe with dallas winston" (Report as inappropriate)
