We think its cool! Love it!. There is a small town in the north of Scotland called Dallas, a whiskey called Dallas Dhu and a waterfall. Comment left Apr 21, 2008: "I've been named Dallas all my life. Funnily enough. I love it. Most people that hear it say how nice a name it is. And very rarely are the words "Dallas? Dallas who?" spoken. When I was young a school teacher told me the name meant 'creative and good with hands' which is very much what I am. I did get a bit of crap about it in primary (grade) school. People standing behind me in the class line whistling the theme to the TV show. But mostly it was from people named John or Fred. Jealous. I only got the name because my uncle wanted to call his first boy Dallas, then had three girls and was to scared to try again. When I cam along, he let me mum take the name. I feel very luck to have it. Just a shame my last name is Bland. And my middle name is also very very average. Thank god for my first name." (Report as inappropriate)

Also the whole "texas city" thing was not on my mind when i decided on austin, but my parents like the idea of austin and dallas for 2 brothers. People always seem to remember it, spell it right, and pronounce it correctly, a huge plus! Of course I get teased every once in a while, I practically grew up as "Texas" and "Cowboy" and I hear an occasional good-natured "Dall-ass" from time to time, but it's not a big deal. Dallas being my own name, is a cool name, and i got the same amount of ribbing that seems popular theme with others on this page. Is that your real name or your nick-name? they would ask. Never mind. Its a cool name and i thank my parents for their originality now, and if you really look into it it stems back to an old gaelic name. Stuff others anyway., if you like it run with it. I went to school with 1 other boy named Dallas and once I recahed High school there was a girl Named Dallas (she even had a crush on me...... creepy). I love my name though, it always gets good comments and everyone seems to remember it. Seeings how I had red heair I was called Dall-ass, Salad, carrot top, Archie... you name it.
