It does not mean that anyone has ruined the irish name! Don't be so harsh and judge people in that manner. My son is named Ayden and I love the name, he's proud as punch that he's the only Ayden in his class where there are many "Davids" "Adams" etc, children with more common names. Comment left Oct 22, 2008: "Today was the first time I've googled the name Ayden. Ten or so years ago while engaged to my now wife, she said she'd like to name a boy Aiden as she has liked that name. Well, married and four years later we found out we were having a girl. So, I suggested we change the spelling to
A-Y-D-E-N to make it more feminine. We'd never seen it spelled that way, and have yet to meet any other person that uses that spelling. We had also never looked up any baby names and had NO idea how popular it had become. But I couldn't picture her with any other name (or spelling)...and the "fire" definition fits!!"
