"My Sister is Hispanic so in Spanish they pronounce it Salome. But we live in America so people would say it wrong. My mom added an a to my sisters name so it is Salomae. Sa-lo-may. Lots of times my sister get irritated because far to many people pronounce it wrong. But it is a very beautiful name and she gets lots of complements!" Aug. 20, 2015:
"My name is Salome and im originally from country Georgia, back there Salome is very common name, we often shorten it and say Sally or sal. I have had very confusing experiences with my name in USA. People used to call me salmon or saimon which is humiliating, also when i say u can call me sally they think I change my name to make their life easier while i have a different name but I want to acknowledge everyone, SALOME is a very beautiful name if pronounced correctly, it is also sally or sal." in spanish: Sah-loh-MEH with an accent on the e when spelling. :)
I haven't met anyone with the same name yet.
Although there was one person who had it as a last name..." Dec. 1, 2010:

"My name is Salome. Both in spanish and english its beautiful, but sometimes I think of why I had to be named Salome. This is because in english people sometimes pronounce it wrong. They say it like if it was salami. Also because of the magic "e" people also say it wrong. I do like my name, but why can't people just know how to pronounce it correctly." Mar. 7, 2019:

"Despite its meaning, the only television character named Salome (in the trisyllabic pronounciation as 'salo-may') I can think of is a muscle-bound villainess from an old Power Rangers-like show in Japan in the late Seventies called Battle Fever J, which was subsequently aired in Hawaii (and was supposed to have originally served as a Japanese version of them "Captain America" comics/shows, a Captain America take-off)" Dec. 12, 2010:
"Former "ER" actress Alex Kingston, originally from the United Kingdom but emigrating to the United States in the 1990s, has a daughter named Salome Violetta." Apr. 28, 2008:
