"My name is Lucia, pronounced Loo-sha and I absolutely love it. I'm from the US and was named after my Italian grandma, that I unfortunately never got to meet so I feel like I always have a piece of her. Teachers on the first day usually say it Loo-see-uh but once I correct them, they never get it wrong again. I pronounce it Loo-sha since I live in the states. When I went to Italy I saw my name everywhere is was so cool since I never see my name in the US. But I love this name and I'm so thankful my family named me it. I have never met another Lucia and every time I met someone new throughout my life they always make a comment like "thats such a beautiful name" or "thats such a cool and unique name". I love being different :)" Nov. 29, 2018:

"This name occurs in so many cultures, and with so many different pronunciations. None of them can be wrong.
When I was younger, I thought my name was prissy, and didn't suit me. Now, I like it. It's nice to have an original name, and the occasional mispronunciation doesn't bother me.
It also has a lot of nice nicknames: mine are Lulu, Lucy, Luchi, Luchia, Luch, or just Lu. I think nicknames mean that you are loved, so it's good to have a name that lends itself to many nicknames." Mar. 27, 2009:
"my mum was called lucia and when she died i said to myself that if i ever had a baby girl i'd love to give her a similar name in her memory,so when i was pregneant and discovered its a girl i was overpleased!looked through various sites and found the name leuciagh (lucia in gaelic)(pronounced as lusajah)in a site which unluckily i forgot to keep the site's name.i called my daughter leuciagh but now i never managed to find anything else about the name or site so i'd be pleased if anyone is called so or has any information as she's the only one i've heard of till now."
